heavyweight and limited to 500 hand numbered copies. welcome to the september instalment of the too pure singles club. as the summer draws to its close we're pushing things up a gear here as we career headlong into autumn with the excellent zebedy rays. zebedy rays came together in 2006 straight out of the british midlands. adam (vocals / guitar) and josh (drums) have been playing music together for over ten years writing the music that would eventually make up the zebedy rays sonic arsenal. the final piece of the puzzle came in the form of danny (bass) after meeting at a show in early 2006. the boys bonded over a mutual love of music and danny was accepted into the fold. they quickly took their raucous and infectious sound to the live circuit initially building a strong local buzz across worcestershire, then extending this following to other regions of the country. throughout the next two years the band continued to work tirelessly and independently released their debut ep 'addictive experience' thru a local label in 2008. at the end of 2009 the band signed with a london based management team and headed back into the studio to record the new tracks that would become their 2010 debut single for too pure. the band recorded 'john esli davies' and 'this generation' with paul tipler (idlewild, placebo, eighties matchbox b line disaster). adam, lead frontman, writes all the music and lyrics for zebedy rays with a clear idea of how he wants the final song to sound before the band gather to put the songs together. never anchored to one approach, each song may grow from a different element, be it a bass line, guitar part or vocal melody. regardless of this the result is always raw, powerful and infectiously melodic.
